That Paperclip Editor

I’m not suggesting you should start using the infamous paperclip in Microsoft Word, but

MS Paperclip

MS Paperclip

what you should do is turn the grammar checking back on. Yes, I know everyone switches it off at the first opportunity. Usually when you notice that a decent sentence has been highlighted as being in error. <– ;)

There are, however, a number of areas when the grammar checking comes in useful. Spell checking will pick up repeated words for example, but it won’t spot an extra space, ‘choose’ when it should be ‘chose’ or any of the numerous typos we all make. For this alone grammar checking is worth using but, as with Wikipedia, don’t believe everything it tells you.
