Casting The Net To Catch An Entire Pod

The fact that iTunes is so easy to use and podcasts are simple to subscribe to has helped with their mass acceptance. The one thing that’s missing though is a way to download the podcasts you subscribe to when you’re not using the computer you have iTunes running on.

You could, of course just keep a list of podcasts and download them from the various web sites, but where’s the elegance in that. It would be a lot easier to have Apple host your subscription details so you could at least grab the mp3s.

It would also be a lot more useful if Apple actually put their store on the web rather than making you access it via iTunes. I suspect, however, both are a bit too none proprietary for them, so I don’t think I’m going to see either in the near future.
